Osteopathy in Beaumaris

Our Bayside Osteopaths address your point of pain, find the underlying issues, and get you moving again.

Tailored Osteo Treatments to suit the individual

Osteopathy is well-established system of manual healthcare that recognises the important connection between the structure of the body and how it functions. Osteopaths focus on the way in which all of the systems of the body inter-relate and function as a unit.

Osteopaths can identify and relieve pain that is the result of a dysfunction within the body using many of the diagnostic procedures used in conventional medical assessment and diagnosis.

It’s main strength, however, lies in the unique way we assess patients from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint and our ‘hands-on’ approach to treatment. Osteopaths achieve excellent results through their treatment by addressing the underlying cause of the pain, not just treating the symptoms.

Treatment can involve techniques such as soft tissue massage and stretching, along with mobilisation of specific joints and soft tissues, and importantly, will be tailored to the individual needs of the patient.

Osteopathy reduces the stress on your body and prevents issues from reoccuring

Everyone from young children to the elderly are subject to basic forms of mechanical stress on their body. Some bodies can handle this pressure with minimal problems, others struggle due to a number of reasons. Osteopathy is designed to reduce the effect of such pressure and will strive to prevent these injuries from re-occurring.

Osteopathy can be used to successfully treat a wide range of injuries. Featured below are some of the common treatments we provide.

Headache & MigraIne

Muscle tension and joint restriction in the neck and shoulders are a major cause of headaches and migraines. With these restrictions and tightness in the head and scalp area, blood supply is reduced which can then cause pain.

Whether your interest in sport is professional or purely for pleasure, it can be incredibly frustrating if an injury stops you participating or impairs your performance.Osteopathic treatment not only accelerates the healing process and relieves the pain, it also identifies and resolves any problems in other parts of your body that have contributed to the original injury.

Back & NECK Pain

Back pain is one of the most common medical problems. Understanding the cause of your back pain is the key to proper treatment. This is where your local Osteopath can help. Patients are assessed from a mechanical, functional and postural standpoint.

Over the course of a pregnancy, a woman’s body must be able to adapt to both the structural & hormonal changes that occur to accommodate a growing baby.

Paediatric Osteopathy is based on the principle that many common ailments - whether minor or serious - result from an imbalance somewhere in the body caused by stress during pregnancy and the birthing process.

These sorts of injuries result in parts of your spine (usually your neck) becoming too mobile and relatively unstable. This means the muscles in the area tire easily, causing pain. Osteopathic treatment relieves this pain by gently releasing the muscle tension and improving the blood supply.

Osteo + Seniors + arthritis

The musculo-skeletal system is greatly affected by the ageing process. Gradually over the years our muscles lose their tone & our bones lose their strength. The elasticity within the body deteriorates thereby increasing our risk of injury. Many people with wear and tear (or arthritis) in their joints, even those waiting for hip or knee replacements, are not aware of the relief osteopathic treatment can provide.
